Singing in the Car

Have you ever fallen to the overwhelming feeling of having to sing and dance in your car because an amazing song just blessed the airwaves as you pulled to a stoplight? And, at said stoplight, the person next to you looks at you and laughs with their friend in the passenger seat? Well, that has happened to me and I used to be embarrassed when someone caught me...not anymore! As of 7:00 a.m., November 9, 2005 - I'm going to just keep on singing and if I can (I wasn’t, necessarily, blessed with amazing winking abilities – I tend to look like I have an eye-twitch) I will just wink at them!

Why should I be embarrassed - because I love music, because I have the mental capability of remembering lyrics to a plethora of songs? Nope, THEY should be embarrassed! Yep, I said it - THEY should be embarrassed because they laugh at you for something I will (going out on a limb here) guarantee they do themselves, I just haven't caught them. They should be embarrassed that they weren't jamming to their own car stereo, but were busy staring at me in my car (I guess the inner-world of their car is outright boring).

Don't get me wrong, I think I used to laugh at people singing in the car when I was a giddy teenager - but apparently I had an inferiority complex because I made fun of EVERYONE and EVERYTHING at that age. So, lately, all I do is flash a “thumbs-up” at them - I know how it is, I know that there just happened to be a really spectacular song on the radio when I drove up. I know!

So, my solemn vow is to:

  • Wink at the nosey neighbor that catches me singing and dancing along to a song in my car at a stoplight.
  • Flash a “thumbs-up” to anyone that I happen to be nosey enough to catch singing and dancing to a song in their car.

I AM AWARE

I know guys, I'm aware that I haven't been around in a few months, but I've just been so busy.

First off, the end of the baseball season was very busy for me as we were going to so many games with our season tickets. We went to the last-ever regular season baseball game at Busch Stadium (since they are tearing it down for a newer model) on October 2, and that was one of the neatest games I had ever been to. We had a great time.

Then the post season came about and that was just as crazy, if not crazier! My Cardinals clinched the Central Division, but lost the NLCS to the Houston Astros. Yes, I know there were so many bad calls by the umps during these games, but we still lost and that's how baseball is played. Had we actually showed up to play baseball, we may have won. But I digress.

So I, bitterly, watched the World Series. Part of me rooted for the Astros because they were our National League representatives, but the other part of me? Yeah, I wanted them to get humiliated because they were so cocky and thought that the World Series should be handed to them because Bagwell and Biggio had never won a World Series! All of that premature celebration by the Astros during games 4 & 5 of the NLCS had done me in. We used to have such a friendly rivalry with the Astros - that has all changed since they actually won.

But another reason for me rooting for the White Sox - the White Sox happen to be my favorite American League team, mainly because they are rivals with the Cubs like we are. So...the White Sox won and I loved it because they swept the Astros! All those ignorant things the Astros fans/trolls said about us being swept in 2004 came rushing back when they made it to the World Series. So, to see them get swept was bittersweet - I don't like to see ANY team get swept.

Now, before any Astros fans read this and assume that I hate the Astros, let me just say that I don't. I actually like the team, they are a great team and they have great fans (most of them). But, while hanging out on the Cardinals Forum, I ran into some of the bitterest (is that a word?) people in the world. These particular fans were under the impression that they should be handed their World Series rings without playing just because they had never been in a World Series. Well, I'm sorry, you have to play great all season AND during the playoffs to be worthy of the rings. My Cardinals played their butts off during the regular season but, for some strange reason they decided not to show up for the NLCS and they didn't even look like they cared. I don't know what happened, but I will be the first to admit, we didn't deserve to go to the World Series. Could it be that they HAD to get that old stadium down early on so that they would have the new done by April? I don't know...okay...I'm moving on...

For those of you that don't know, I started my MBA program at Maryville University in August. My first class is a class that I have always hated - Economics. But, I have actually become interested in economics throughout this class. I don't know if it has anything to do with the fact that my professor is a VP at Anheuser-Busch and all of his examples include beer, but that's what I'm attributing my interest to. I only have two more classes until this class is over - I'm so excited. My next class is going to be Managerial Accounting - another class I hated as an undergrad. I love accounting, but I didn't like Managerial Accounting at all - I hated it as a matter of fact. Then again, I don't think I was really trying to hard when I took it as an undergrad, so that might have hindered my progress in the class - I guess we'll find out in January.

What else...oh...J will be traveling a little after Thanksgiving for work. He's going on tour with a Christmas show. It will be good for him - he's going to Atlanta for a week & a half and then he'll go to Orlando for another week & a half. It will be good money and it might help him get on the entire tour next year - which will be so great money wise! So, I'll miss him and I'll feel lost for a couple weeks, but just smack me and I'll be okay.

J and I have been talking about taking the money he's saved for an engagement ring and pay off both of our credit cards - that way, we'll both be able to save all of our money (instead of paying on credit cards all the time) and things will work out a lot better that way. So...we'll see if we do that tonight - he's been putting it off.

We don't have much else going on now. My birthday was on 10/30 - so that Saturday J and I went out to dinner and he took me shoe shopping for my birthday. Then, the actual day of my birthday (on a Sunday) my brother, S and Snake came over so we could all eat dinner and then have cake & ice cream. It was nice.

A couple weeks earlier, around 10/15, I got my iPod Nano - I don't know how I lived without this thing before - I love it!

Okay, I'm worn out from writing all of this and I feel like I'm babbling - so I'll be back with something meaningful to say soon!

HAPPY MONDAY!!!

Can you believe it?

Is it really possible that it's been 3 months since I've updated my blog? I guess so.

Sorry guys, it has been a busy summer and fall (so far). We've been so busy with season tickets to the Cards (and now in postseason - a crappy postseason, but postseason)!

I don't really have much to say - I'll have to come back to update everyone when I have more time!

The Dentist

My friend Carol called into work this morning and told me that her mother was in the hospital as of late last night. Any time anyone even says the word hospital, I think needles. As I was thinking about her mother in the hospital, I remembered how afraid of needles I was. Then, a couple of incidences popped into my head.

As a child I was, deathly, afraid of needles. My extensive fear of needles, or anything remotely pointy, was so bad that I got ridiculously scared when I had to get the old TB test that us kids of the 80's got at every physical. You know the test I'm talking about, a little piece of plastic with four minute prongs on the end that they prick your skin with…and if it swells (or turns red) bigger than the tip of your finger, you're in real trouble. Yeah, that one, I was even afraid of that. So, needless to say, I avoided any type of needle at all costs. Just the thought of a needle of any size being stuck into my skin would be enough to scare me stiff. I remember asking my mom the same question every time we went to the doctor (regardless the reason we were visiting the doctor), "will I have to get a shot?". To this day I can tell you of three specific events that may have led to my severe fear of needles. And, fortunately, there's only been a few times in my entire life that needles did actually hurt me.

The first time a needle ever hurt me was when I was three years old or so (I'm not certain, I don't really remember the event). I had been following my mom around the house and when she walked into the bedroom, I tripped on something and my head landed on the corner of the metal bed frame. The corner of the bed frame plunged into the top of my forehead! I had to be rushed to the emergency room to get stitches. I can only assume a needles was involved in this situation, so I am guessing this was the first time I was assaulted with a needle (other than as an infant). I don't remember much more from that day, but I really think it must have been traumatic.

The second time a needle hurt me, I was about 4 years old, or maybe 5 (again, not sure). I was running up the concrete stairs in front of our house and fell. My teeth ripped through my top lip as my mouth struck the edge of the third concrete step. Ouch! Again, I was rushed hospital for stitches. I'm certain I was screaming and I'm certain that didn't stop when the the E.R. Doc pulled out the needle and syringe. I'm not sure, but I think this is the time I was placed in a straight jacket so they could stitch me up. Yes, a white straight jacket, just like you would see at the local nut house! I couldn't do anything about it, but take the pain as he stitched my lip. Of course, I don't remember much, but it couldn't have been pleasant, ya know? Plus, I think maybe the straight jacket may have traumatized me as well. And, it didn't help that a few days later, I walked too close to the swing set and someone kicked me in the mouth and split my lip wide open again. Maybe, I was knocked unconscious, because I don't remember this incident or maybe it's buried in my conscience and will be revealed later by a very well-trained Psychiatrist.

Somewhere down the line, maybe about a year later, at the age of 5 or 6, I broke my arm. This time, my dad had to hold me still with all of his might, as they pushed a needle into my leg (I don't know why they gave me a shot in my leg for a broken arm, but they did - I swear they did, my mom doesn't remember this, but I certainly do). I must say, I did make it hard for my dad to hold me still. But, the shot did help since I didn't feel a thing as the Doctor repositioned my bones and placed my arm in a cast. This incident wasn't quite as traumatizing as the others, but still memorable.

I realize that I sidetracked for a moment there, but I felt it necessary to aptly describe the trauma I had experienced with needles in order for you to understand why I may have acted so erractically at the Dentist's office in the following story.

Around the second or third time I was assaulted with a needle, I had to go to The Dentist (we'll just call the evil Dr. Linehan, "The Dentist") for a checkup. The usual happened, we got our teeth cleaned, we had that fluoride stuff and everything was fine…UNTIL The Dentist told us that I had a cavity. So, I assume we made an appointment to come back and have the cavity filled. I didn't know what this meant. Heck, I was only 4 or 5, I didn't remember ever having a cavity! We arrived at The Dentist's office to have my cavity filled and I began to stare at the huge fish tank in the waiting room. I loved that fish tank, the fish were so beautiful and lucky to not have teeth. When the dental assistant called my name, I jumped up and followed her to my special little room. I sat in the chair as The Dentist got ready. He put that lovely bib over my clothes and took a quick look at my teeth…then it happened…he pulled out a needle and syringe! I panicked, I didn't know what he was going to do with that thing, all I could think was that he was going to stick that needle in my gums and that would hurt! In absolute horror, I started to flail around like a fish out of water, my arms were flapping, my legs were kicking and my mouth screamed with utter fear. The Dentist, for some strange reason, ran out of the office. It took a couple of seconds for it to register that the evil man with the needle was gone. As I began to calm, the nurse grabbed both of my shoulders with her hands and laid me back down on the chair and said the most ignorant thing to me…"See what you did to Dr. Linehan?" I didn't understand, what had I done to him? He was the one with a needle and he was the one that was going to stick that needle in my mouth! But, then it became clear, in my attempt to free myself from the torture chair, I had stuck The Dentist in the hand with the needle and syringe full of Novocain!!! Even though the nurse treated me as some horrible, deviant, like I had just murdered a cat or something – I was proud. I kept that man from sticking me with a needle at that moment. After a little while, I had my cavity filled. But, I have been terrified of the dentist ever since.

I don't think my brother and I visited that dentist very much after that.

And...for those of you wondering...the last time I was ever hurt by a needle was at the age of 10. I had a blister under my cuticle on my left forefinger. It was a huge blister full of puss (I know, grody), we couldn't figure out what it was. But, it hurt so bad to touch it and I kept banging it on my desk at school. I was in 5th grade at the time. Finally, my dad took me to Dr. Schneidman, my Pediatrician. She took a look at my finger and said she knew what needed to be done. I had an infection of some kind and she had to rid my finger of that infection. Dr. Schneidman left the room and in came a nurse with, you guessed it, a NEEDLE! I tried to be adult about it, I tried to act brave…I figured they would just give me a shot to numb my finger or something, I could handle that…boy was I wrong. The nurse, as casually as can be, stuck the needle directly into the middle of this horrendous blister! It hurt so bad that I almost passed out. But, the Doctor explained that they just needed to get the infection out of my finger and that was the only way. Once they finished emptying the blister, the nurse came in with some crackers and 7-Up. That was that. However, I would say I was, officially, terrified of needles by the time I was 4.

My Youth

I have come to realize that my memory is no where near perfect, the way it used to be. There was a time when my brother would comment that I had an elephant memory because I would remember things that no one would even bother TRYING to remember - but I wasn't trying...I just remembered EVERYTHING.

In the past few weeks I have been reading blogs where authors recounted numerous childhood memories. Then it hit me, I have a lot of childhood memories - some great, some not so great. But, in my infinite wisdom, I have decided that I will start to write down my memories as they come to me. That way, when my memory is completely gone, I will have those moments to think back on. So, my point, you ask? Well, there are going to be a lot of stories that I will blog, many will be very embarrassing to me...so don't laugh at me when you see me!

Can You Believe It?

Can you believe how long it's been since I've been on here? I haven't really been up to anything all that great, so I don't know why I haven't been on here!

Although, I have been going to a lot of baseball games since we got the season tickets! The best part about it is...the Cardinals are doing awesome so far this year! We're number 1 in the division and we're like 7 or so games ahead of the Cubs (number 2). Go Cards! Our next game is this Saturday against the Yankees...but I'm not going - I'm going to scrapbook with L! I have so much scrapbooking to get done, it's not funny. I probably won't even get any done on Saturday because for some reason I'm not motivated enough to work and talk at the same time, apparently I'd just rather talk :O) I don't know if J will go to the game or not, he will probably have to work. We'll see what happens. I know that some lucky soul will end up with our tickets.

In other Cardinals news we took the Red Sox 2-1 in the series (the games were Monday night, Tuesday night and last night). Why couldn't we have done that in October????? I guess we just didn't have the team we have now, who knows? Maybe the Cards didn't WANT it bad enough, or they didn't want it as bad as the Red Sox did. I don't know...I'll shut up about baseball now.

I haven't been up to much else. Although, tonight I am going to my nephew's baseball game - he's six and they are soooo cute!

Speaking of cute...my cousin's wife just had their first baby boy! He was born June 1st - he's such a cutie pie! I know they must be proud...and tired!

What else???? Ummm...here's a couple of OLD jokes:

A mortician was working late one night. It was his job to examine the dead bodies before they were sent off to be buried or cremated. As he examined the body of Mr. Schwartz, who was about to be cremated, he made an amazing discovery. Schwartz had the longest private part he had ever seen! "I'm sorry, Mr. Schwartz", said the mortician, "but I can't send you off to be cremated with a tremendously huge private part like this. It has to be saved for posterity." With that, the coroner used his tools to remove the dead man's unit. He stuffed his prize into a briefcase and took it home. The first person he showed it to was his wife. "I have something to show you that you won't believe," he said, and opened up his briefcase. "Oh my God!" the wife screamed, "Schwartz is dead!"

A woman was in bed with her lover when she heard her husband opening the front door. "Hurry," she said, "stand in the corner." Then she quickly rubbed baby oil all over him and then dusted him with talcum powder. "Don't move until I tell you to," she whispered. "Just pretend you're a statue." "What's this, honey?" the husband inquired as he entered the room. "Oh, it's a statue," she replied nonchalantly. "The Smith's bought one for their bedroom. I liked it so much, I got one for us too." No more was said about the statue, not even later when they went to sleep. Around two in the morning, the husband got out of bed, went to the kitchen and returned a while later with a sandwich and a glass of milk. Here," he said to the statue, "eat something. I stood like an idiot at the Smith's for three days and nobody offered me so much as a glass of water."

A man walks into a night club one night. He goes up to the bar and asks for a beer. Certainly, Sir, that'll be 1 cent." "One Cent?", exclaimed the man. So the man glances over at the menu and asks, "Could I have a nice juicy T-bone steak, with chips, peas and a fried egg?" "Certainly Sir," replies the barman, "but that comes to real money." "How much money?" inquires the man. "4 cents," the bartender replied. "Four Cents?", exclaimed the man. "Where's the guy who owns this place?" The bartender replied, "Upstairs, with my wife." The man says, "What's he doing upstairs with your wife?" The bartender replied, "The same thing as I'm doing to his business!"

Alright, well, I guess that's all I have to say for now...but, in the words of Ahnold (Governa of Californeea), "I'll be back".

Viva! Cinco de Mayo!

The 5th of May is not Mexican Independence Day, but it should be! And Cinco de Mayo is not an American holiday, but it should be. Mexico declared its independence from mother Spain on midnight, the 15th of September, 1810. And it took 11 years before the first Spanish soldiers were told and forced to leave Mexico. So, why Cinco de Mayo? And why should Americans savor this day as well? Because 4,000 Mexican soldiers smashed the French and traitor Mexican army of 8,000 at Puebla, Mexico, 100 miles east of Mexico City on the morning of May 5, 1862.The French had landed in Mexico (along with Spanish and English troops) five months earlier on the pretext of collecting Mexican debts from the newly elected government of democratic President (and Indian) Benito Juarez. The English and Spanish quickly made deals and left. The French, however, had different ideas.Under Emperor Napoleon III, who detested the United States, the French came to stay. They brought a Hapsburg prince with them to rule the new Mexican empire. His name was Maximilian; his wife, Carolota. Napoleon's French Army had not been defeated in 50 years, and it invaded Mexico with the finest modern equipment and with a newly reconstituted Foreign Legion. The French were not afraid of anyone, especially since the United States was embroiled in its own Civil War. The French Army left the port of Vera Cruz to attack Mexico City to the west, as the French assumed that the Mexicans would give up should their capital fall to the enemy -- as European countries traditionally did.Under the command of Texas-born General Zaragosa, (and the cavalry under the command of Colonel Porfirio Diaz, later to be Mexico's president and dictator), the Mexicans awaited. Brightly dressed French Dragoons led the enemy columns. The Mexican Army was less stylish.General Zaragosa ordered Colonel Diaz to take his cavalry, the best in the world, out to the French flanks. In response, the French did a most stupid thing; they sent their cavalry off to chase Diaz and his men, who proceeded to butcher them. The remaining French infantrymen charged the Mexican defenders through sloppy mud from a thunderstorm and through hundreds of head of stampeding cattle stirred up by Indians armed only with machetes. When the battle was over, many French were killed or wounded and their cavalry was being chased by Diaz' superb horsemen miles away. The Mexicans had won a great victory that kept Napoleon III from supplying the confederate rebels for another year, allowing the United States to build the greatest army the world had ever seen. This grand army smashed the Confederates at Gettysburg just 14 months after the battle of Puebla, essentially ending the Civil War.Union forces were then rushed to the Texas/Mexican border under General Phil Sheridan, who made sure that the Mexicans got all the weapons and ammunition they needed to expel the French. American soldiers were discharged with their uniforms and rifles if they promised to join the Mexican Army to fight the French. The American Legion of Honor marched in the Victory Parade in Mexico, City.It might be a historical stretch to credit the survival of the United States to those brave 4,000 Mexicans who faced an army twice as large in 1862. But who knows? In gratitude, thousands of Mexicans crossed the border after Pearl Harbor to join the U.S. Armed Forces. As recently as the Persian Gulf War, Mexicans flooded American consulates with phone calls, trying to join up and fight another war for America.Mexicans, you see, never forget who their friends are, and neither do Americans. That's why Cinco de Mayo is such a party -- A party that celebrates freedom and liberty. There are two ideals which Mexicans and Americans have fought shoulder to shoulder to protect, ever since the 5th of May, 1862. VIVA! el CINCO DE MAYO!!

10 Reasons Baseball is a Weird Sport!

Now, baseball is my favorite sport...but I thought this was too cute.

Baseball is the American national pastime and many people take the game rather seriously (like me). In our earnest dedication, we may sometimes lose sight of some of the game's striking peculiarities. So let's take a step back for a moment and review the top 10 reasons baseball is one weird sport.

1. If a batter fails two-thirds of the time, they're still considered an excellent batter. It's too bad this standard isn't applied to everything else in life.

2. It is legal to "steal" in this game. This is, perhaps, a questionable example for children.

3. If you aren't such a good hitter, you can have a pinch hitter bat for you. If you aren't such a fast runner, you can have someone--a pinch runner--come in and run for you. At what point, you might wonder, is a team entirely comprised of "pinch" players?

4. There's a rule preventing pitchers from spitting on the ball. They can spit anywhere else they like, apparently.

5. If a batter walks with the bases loaded, he is credited with an RBI (Run Batted In). That's right: even though he didn't hit the ball.

6. The game is played on dirt and grass, but if the ball gets dirty, it is replaced with a new clean ball.

7. If a batter accidentally hits the catcher when swinging, it's the catcher's fault, even if the catcher gets injured. The batter is awarded a base. The catcher gets an apology, if he's lucky.

8. The coaches and managers wear the same uniforms as the players.

9. When a pitcher walks a batter, the batter jogs to first base. Incongruous, but it is a nice show of effort. (As a kid, this bothered me so much, I couldn't figure it out...why do they call it "walk" then?)

10. The 7th-inning stretch makes baseball the only sport where spectators must take part in calisthenics.

BTW...GO CARDINALS!!!!

Howdy

I've been so neglectful of my little Blog, but I've been so busy. Jason thought it would be great to have Season Tickets to the Cardinals, which IS really nice, but it's very time-consuming also. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely LOVE the Cardinals and I absolutely LOVE going to the games, but there are SO many games. I can't complain, it's so much fun! Not to mention, the Cardinals are in 1st place!

In other news, I watched American Idol last night and I can't believe Constantine was knocked off. Actually, what I can't believe is that Scott Savol is still around. He's so disgusting...not just looks wise either - his personality is "missing in action". He doesn't have a personality and he's so cocky (with no good reason to be). I still think Nikko is better that Scott and that Scott should have been gone a long, long time ago. But, apparently there's someone out there that likes Scott - they all must be in the prison system! Anyway. I was on some online forum and a lot of people were saying that they were voting for Scott merely because Simon was "rude" to him. Come on people! You don't vote for someone to spite a judge, you vote for someone because they have talent!! Get it straight!!

I haven't really been watching very much TV since we've been at the games. I'm kinda bummed too, because we watched Part 1 of Revelations and we really liked it. We couldn't watch Part 2 because we were at a game and last night Jason was working. I figured I might as well forget it since we missed Part 2 anyway. Besides, it came on at 8:00 and so did American Idol. hhhmmm...

I had to fill out some paper work today...I'm going to start getting Immunotherapy for my allergies and I have to get the friggin' shot once a week! Ugh. It's a 5 year program too, that means that I have to get a shot once a week for 5 years...Oh well. I hope it works as well as everyone says it does. We'll see.

Well, I suppose that's it for now. Talk to you soon, hopefully.

Has it Really Been That Long?

I know, I haven't posted in a VERY LONG time! Sorry. I've been busy. To be honest, I forgot I even had a blog! I have a really busy April planned too. On the 4th of April, I had an Area Meeting. This weekend is our Team National Scrapbook Day, then next weekend I have a Craft Fair that I'll be in on Saturday and Amanda's baby shower is Sunday (Amanda is my cousin, Mike's, wife). Then on the 23rd I am having my own separate National Scrapbook Day at my house. So, I've been getting ready for all of this.

I've really been thinking about quitting as a Consultant for Creative Memories. I can't get ANYONE to host a home class and I've asked anyone and everyone I know. It's ridiculous. I always knew I was bad at sales, but this is sad. It took me a year and a half to sign a Consultant under me and I'm just frustrated at this point. I don't know what to do. Anyone out there really good at direct sales and want to give me some tips? Please help!

Monday Morning - UGH!

Well, good morning all! It's already been a rough morning and it's only 7:15. I had to wake up uber-early because Jason had to use my car and he had to be at work at 7:00. So, I was dropped off at 6:30! Way too early for me. But, I'll live.

I'm happy to announce that Nikko Smith will be coming back to American Idol!!!!! Mario Vasquez dropped out for "personal reasons". So, I'll be glad to see Nikko back - GO ST. LOUIS!! I'll be sure to vote for him!

I'm so tired!

Okay, I can't think of anything else to say - brain dead!

Here's a joke to start your week off:

There was a middle-aged couple that had two stunningly beautiful teenage daughters. The couple decided to try one last time for the son they always wanted. After months of trying, the wife finally got pregnant and sure enough, delivered a healthy baby boy nine months later. The joyful father rushed into the nursery to see his new son. He took one look and was horrified to see the ugliest child he had ever seen. He went to his wife and told her there was no way he could be the father of that child. "Look at the two beautiful daughters I fathered!" Then he gave her a stern look and asked, "Have you been fooling around on me?" The wife just smiled sweetly and said, "Not this time!"

"Irregardless"

I keep hearing a word and I hate said word! Has anyone ever heard someone say "irregardless"? I hear it and I hate that word!

The word "irregardless" is not grammatically correct. Even in The American Heritage College Dictionary it says, "ir-re-gard-less adv. Nonstandard Regardless. [Perh. blend of IRRESPECTIVE and REGARDLESS.] Usage Note: Many mistakenly believe irregardless to be correct in formal style, when in fact is is chiefly used in nonstandard speech or casual writing. It was coined in the U.S. in the early 20th century and has been roundly condemned because of the logical absurdity of combining the negative ir - prefix and -less suffix."

Regardless means, "in spite of everything anyway." Adding the "ir" would make it the opposite of "regardless". That means it negates itself fools!

It plainly frustrates me when I hear an, otherwise intelligent, person say "irregardless". Please don't be that person!

Sorry, I had to rant for a minute, I can't stand to hear that word and I heard it this morning from one of the company's Vice Presidents!

I've been so busy lately. I really want to get my CM business off the ground, but I can't seem to do it. I guess it doesn't help that I work full time. I've been frustrated with my business level within CM. My vow is to work on that. My goal is to add 100 customers this year. Think I can do it? We'll see.

I'm going for now...ta ta!

I'm Not Good With Titles

Hey guys,

I know, I know, I haven't been around for a while - but there really hasn't been anything to post. Nothing is going on in my boring little world. I just wanted to let you all know I was still alive.

A little joke on my way out...

A married man was having an affair with his secretary. One day, their passions overcame them and they took off for her house, where they made passionate love all afternoon. Exhausted from the wild sex, they fell asleep, awakening around 8:00 pm. As the man threw on his clothes, he told the woman to take his shoes outside and rub them through the grass and dirt. Mystified, she nonetheless complied. He slipped into his shoes and drove home. "Where have you been?" demanded his wife when he entered the house. "Darling, I can't lie to you. I've been having an affair with my secretary and we've been having sex all afternoon. I fell asleep and didn't wake up until eight o'clock." The wife glanced down at his shoes and said, "You lying bastard! You've been playing golf!"

Happy Birthday Baxter

Today is my dog's 6th birthday! Happy Birthday Baxter!

Not much else going on.

Jason went and played in a poker tournament on the President Casino yesterday. It was his first time playing in a tournament at a Casino. He didn't do too bad either, he came in 4th out of 10 guys. He wanted to win so bad though. I know he did better than I would have!

Yesterday was so beautiful - I wanted to go home and walk around the lake, but about the time I got home it started to get dark and it looked like it would rain - but it never did! So, needless to say, I didn't go walk around the lake. Oh well, soon enough.

We watched the best movie last night. We watched "Saw". It was crazy. Regardless of how sure you are that you know who did it, you are wrong! I loved it! You all GOTTA watch it.
Then we watched American Idol and House - our usual Tuesday night. I've grown accustomed to my little TV nights.

Enough for now...later!

A Few Missives On Old Age

A distraught senior citizen phoned her doctor's office. "Is it true," she wanted to know, "that the medication you prescribed has to be taken for the rest of my life?" "Yes, I'm afraid so," the doctor told her. There was a moment of silence before the senior lady replied, "I'm wondering, then, just how serious is my condition because this prescription is marked 'NO REFILLS'.

"An older Jewish gentleman was on the operating table awaiting surgery and he insisted that his son, a renowned surgeon, perform the operation. As he was about to get the anesthesia he asked to speak to his son. "Yes, Dad, what is it?" "Don't be nervous, son; do your best and just remember, if itdoesn't go well, if something happens to me .. your mother is going to come and live with you and your wife....

"Some people try to turn back their odometers. Not me, I want people to know "why" I look this way. I've traveled a long way and some of the roads weren't paved.

When you are dissatisfied and would like to go back to youth, think of Algebra.

You know you are getting old when everything either dries up or leaks.

Old age is when former classmates are so gray and wrinkled and bald, they don't recognize you.

First you forget names, then you forget faces. Then you forget to pull up your zipper. It's worse when you forget to pull it down.

Long ago when men cursed and beat the ground with sticks, it was called witchcraft. Today, it's called golf!
