My "Pick-Me-Up" Song

Do you guys have a song that makes you feel better when you think the world is over? The song that ALWAYS brings me back from the brink of a total meltdown, no matter what is going on in my life, is "Ooh Child" by Beth Orton. It has to be Beth Orton's version though. I know a lot of people consider this song to be depressing, but it's not really. I wish they had it over at BestAudio so I could put it up on my blog, but oh well. This song is one of the only songs in which I pay attention to the lyrics. Don't get me wrong, I love the music too, but the lyrics are so simple, yet so strong.

I'm pretty sure you all know the song, but regardless here are the lyrics:

Ooh Child
Beth Orton (Warchild - Hope Compilation)

Ooh child things are gonna get easier
Ooh child things'll be brighter
Ooh child things are gonna get easier
Ooh child things'll get brighter

Someday yeah, we'll put it together and we'll get it all done
Someday when your head is much lighter
Someday yeah, we'll walk in the rays of a beautiful sun
Someday when the world is much brighter

Ooh child things are gonna get easier
Ooh child things'll be brighter
Ooh child things are gonna get easier
Ooh things'll be brighter

Someday yeah, we'll put it together and we'll get it all done
Someday when your head is much lighter
Someday yeah, we'll walk in the rays of a beautiful sun
Someday when the world is much brighter

Right now, right now, right now
You just wait and see
How things are gonna be
You just wait and see
How things are gonna be
Yeah, you just wait and see
How things are gonna be

Ooh child things are gonna get easier
Ooh child things'll be brighter
Ooh child things are gonna get easier
Ooh things'll get brighter

I have several that pick me up. It all depends on what I feel like at the time. A good song choice though.
