How Bizarre - Episode 9

Dying:

On his deathbed, the venerable Bede (673-735), an English monk, carefully divided up his most prized possession - a handful of pepper.

Can you say "cuckoo, cuckoo"? I wonder if there was something ground up in that pepper? What is it about pepper that would make it his prized possession. Maybe ground up diamonds? Gold? What? I wanna know. And, did he divide it up grain by grain? How would you feel if you got a call from Lawyer saying that an English monk left you something in his will - wo, you rush over to the monastery and they hand you a grain of pepper? I want some pepper now.

I'm not even a pepper fan particularly. My mouth is whimpy around spices.
